MAT Film Night: Margaret's Museum (1995)

In a small mining town in the 1940s Nova Scotia, Margaret grows to despise the mines after her brother and dad die working there. She then meets Neil, a cheerful bagpipe-playing dishwasher who's just as put off by the hard work of rural living as she is. Against the wishes of her hard-bitten mother they marry, but, before long, financial woes lead to his doing what every other uneducated young man does in the town: take a job underground.
