BPL Comic Fest 2026

Dust off those superhero capes - BPL Comic Fest is BACK and better than ever! This annual family-friendly event showcases pop culture in Barrie with local vendors, cosplayers, artists and more. And all for free! This year we're celebrating our 10-year anniversary, so we wanted to make it big. We're thrilled to feature Brampton Batman and his batmobile , as well as a meet and greet with Chip Zdarsky, writer of DC Comics' Batman ! We're taking over the whole Downtown library, with family-friendly activities and events happening on both floors. Browse 40 local vendors and artists who will be selling their superhero and pop culture themed arts, crafts, and collectibles. For the kids, we'll have face painting, superhero crafts, a costume parade, Super Storytime, character meet-and-greets, and more. Teens and adults will enjoy Big Screen Gaming, Dungeons & Dragons Drop-in, tarot readings, Creative Spaces activities, DWARF Renaissance Battle Demo, cosplayer contest, and way more. Featured Guests Chip Zdarsky - Writer of DC Comics' flagship Batman series Chip is a Canadian comic book artist and writer, journalist, illustrator, and designer - and he was raised in Barrie! He has worked on an incredible list of comics , including: Daredevil (36 issues), running from Feb 2019 - Nov 2021 Jughead (first series-arc for the 2015 New Riverdale launch) Batman (Issues 125-157), running from July 2022 - Feb 2025 Captain America (Issues #1-16), running from July 2025 - present We are thrilled that Chip will be joining us for a meet-and-greet, and possibly a few character sketches! Chip will be at the library from 10am–3pm. Brampton Batman and his Batmobile You don't want to miss this - Brampton Batman will be joining us with his Batmobile! If you've ever wanted to meet Batman and get a photo with him, now is your chance. Brampton Batman has spent over a decade patrolling the streets of Brampton, Ontario, in a full superhero costume and a custom 1989 Batmobile replica.
