The Sharing Place Meals 4 Change Program: Free Thanksgiving Dinners

The Sharing Place Food Centre is thrilled to announce our Meals 4 Change program is approaching the preparation of our 400,000th meal during Thanksgiving week!

In celebration of this incredible milestone, our kitchen will be cooking 1,200 Thanksgiving dinners to share with the community. Over 2,500 meals leave our kitchen every single week and go out into the community through our food bank and over a dozen community partners.

Thanksgiving dinners will be handed out on Saturday, October 10th from 11 am until 1 pm at The Sharing Place Food Centre (95 Dufferin Street, Orillia). We invite the community to come and pick up a fresh, packaged meal to enjoy for Thanksgiving.

We cannot thank our volunteers, donors, and community enough, as they are directly responsible for the work we do. That incredible support has carried us through a year of record household food insecurity.

Thanksgiving marks the start of our Season of Sharing, and The Sharing Place Food Centre counts on continued support. Whether by financial donations, volunteering your time or running a food drive, everyone has the potential to make a tangible difference in our community.
